Socially Responsible Ventures L3C has up to this point relied entirely on owner-investor and owner-lender capital seeking a “reasonable but modest” return. 100% of its funding has come from the sphere of family and friends. Unlike many affordable housing developers, the company has received no public operating subsidies or tax breaks.
The company intends to continue with this approach. To the extent, however, that its capital needs cannot be met using this approach, the company is hoping to attract support from like-minded outside investors and lenders.
